LEGAL AID’S HOMELESS ADVOCACY CHANGES LIVES

“Absolutely yes Legal Aid helped me. I lived outside for three years, man. Now I live in a house, I've got food, and everything taken care of.”

-       Project H.E.L.P. Client

Despite the pandemic, Legal Aid’s homeless advocacy program, Project H.E.L.P. continues to transform the lives of those experiencing homelessness.  Legal Aid attorneys and volunteers hold regular clinics with community partners like St. Johns Center for Homeless Men and Uniting Partners for Women and Children to best meet our clients where they are.  In 2021, Legal Aid’s homeless advocacy program has helped over 211 individuals experiences homelessness (with 34 children as secondary beneficiaries).

I believe that everyone should have the right to legal counsel.  Legal Aid does a wonderful service to our community in providing legal services to those who cannot afford to pay a lawyer. As a lawyer, I feel it is an obligation to do all I can to assist Legal Aid with its mission.” Alan Bryant
