EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Legal Aid Society (LAS) seeks a dynamic individual to lead the historic agency with over 100-years of service to the local communities. Legal Aid Society serves a fifteen-county area in Kentucky, including the city of Metro Louisville, providing a wide array of free civil legal services that focus on the safety, stability, and health of individuals and families. As the designated Legal Services Corporation Grant Recipient for the Louisville Metro and surrounding areas, LAS provides services to over 9,000 individuals annually.

SENIOR ATTORNEY - PRO BONO, ECONOMIC JUSTICE

Legal Aid Society is excited to announce an opening for a senior attorney role serving in the Volunteer Lawyer Program. This position will be expected to serve in any of our 15 counties of service, with the main office being the home base location. This role will receive a stipend in addition to base salary and will report to the Executive Director, Jefferson Coulter. This position will engage with attorneys throughout our service areas to help in recruitment and training of volunteers to assist with the amazing work of our Economic Justice team as well as maintain reasonable litigation caseload.

STAFF ATTORNEY - ECONOMIC SECURITY, FOOD

Legal Aid Society is seeking a staff attorney to work in support of our Economic Security team with a primary focus on Food Justice. The role will be expected to work in any Legal Aid Society office location, but will be primarily based in the main office located at 416 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. The role will be reporting to the Advocacy Director, Melissa Weinstein.

This position will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Primarily maintain a caseload of food benefits termination cases, with other public benefits and civil cases as assigned.

  • Assist with the development of pro bono initiatives related to public benefits, including clinics and direct placement with volunteers.

  • Experience with administrative hearings preferred.
