I STAND WITH LEGAL AID

Become a member

The Legal Aid Society isn’t just a nonprofit law firm — it’s a community. A Society of people — staff, donors, volunteers, and advocates — united by the belief that justice should never depend on the size of one’s paycheck.

When our founders chose the name The Legal Aid Society, they understood something profound: justice is a collective act. They knew that ensuring equal access to justice requires a community that stands up, steps in, and stays engaged.

Today, we carry that vision forward — and we invite you to join us.

Become a Member of the Legal Aid Society, and stand with us in making justice for all more than a promise, make it a practice.

Why Membership Matters

When you become a member, you join others who believe:

  • Civil legal aid changes lives by removing barriers to safety, stability, and opportunity.

  • Justice should not be determined by income — everyone deserves equal protection under the law.

  • Lawyers have a responsibility to share their time, talent, and resources to strengthen our community.

Your membership affirms that you stand on the side of fairness and dignity for every Kentuckian.
