BRUSH BOTTLE & BARREL AT HOME

Legal Aid’s first (and hopefully last) Brush, Bottle, and Barrel AT HOME was a success!  With over 130 AT HOME Kits purchased, we estimate nearly 250 guests participated in our event from home. Thanks to our guests and sponsors, Legal Aid Society raised over $35,000.

Couldn’t make it? No sweat - we’ve got it recorded. Watch below to see Judge Denise Clayton receive the 2021 Brown-Forman Spirit of Justice Award and relive the entire event.

THE HONORABLE DENISE CLAYTON

2021 brown-forman spirit of justice award recipient

The Brown-Forman Spirit of Justice Award was created to honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to the mission of Legal Aid Society and who have had a lasting impact in ensuring justice in our community.

We are proud to present the 2021 Brown-Forman Spirit of Justice Award to The Honorable Denise Clayton for her outstanding service to our community and her decades-long pursuit of equal access to justice.

In October 2007, Judge Clayton became the first black woman to serve on the Kentucky Court of Appeals. Prior to becoming a judge in 1996, Judge Clayton began her legal career at the IRS, held a private practice, and served as the Associate Director of the Legal Aid Society.

For more information, Judge Clayton’s full bio is linked here.
